Our mission is to improve the lives of premature babies and their families by providing them with books to promote language development and infant-family bonding.

why books?

Premature infants face many obstacles, and their families face incredible stress. Reading to preemies in the NICU promotes literacy and language development, reduces parental stress, and fosters a bond between parents, siblings, and baby.

our story

17 years ago, I (Hannah) was born premature at 29 weeks. I was read to every day in the NICU and have grown to love reading and learning. When my brother was born at 30 weeks, reading to him in the NICU became a way for me to feel connected with him. I started Preemie Book Project as a way to give back and support babies and their families during and after the trying experience of a NICU stay.
